  1) Free Health Care Day for Families of Children with Special Health Care Needs - May 24, Pearl  
Are you searching for quality health care for your child or youth with special health care needs (CYSHCNs)? Are you a partner at all levels in the decisions made about your child’s health care? Is finding a medical   home in your community a challenge? Do you have adequate insurance to pay for the services you need? Learn more about these key measures of quality health care for your CYSHCNs and others at a  free special health care day for families and health care providers scheduled from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at the Muse Center at 515 Country Place Parkway in Pearl. 2) Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month/Fondren’s First Thursday – May 5, Jackson
May is Children’s Mental Health Awareness month. To help bring awareness this year, the Mississippi Family2Family will be taking part in Fondren’s First Thursday sponsored by Mississippi Families As Allies. Family2Family along with other   community resources will have displays inside Fondren Corner from 5 to 8 pm. Come join us in bringing light to children’s mental health. 3) Sickle Cell Foundation’s Mother’s and Father’s Day Luncheon – May 14, Jackson
Mississippi Family2Family Parent Consultant Keishawna Smith will be the guest speaker at the Mother’s and Father’s Day luncheon on Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Mall Center Stage at 350 West Woodrow   Wilson Drive in Jackson. 4) Hinds County Head Start Recruitment Fair with Disability Awareness – May 14, Jackson
Hinds County Head Start Recruitment Fair with Disability Awareness is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mississippi Children’s Museum at 2145 Museum Boulevard in Jackson. Admission to the museum is free. There   will be food, games and lots of community and statewide resources. Applications will also be taken on-site. 5) Momfest – May 15, Hattiesburg 
Momfest 2016 will be held on Sunday, May 15, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Town Square Park at 100 Main Street in Hattiesburg.  This free community event, sponsored by the South Mississippi Birth and Breastfeeding Connection, is a one-stop shop for growing families in the Pine Belt. 6) 2016 Mississippi disAbility MegaConference – June 16-17, Jackson  
The Mississippi disAbility MegaConference is the state’s largest conference for people with disabilities, their families and professionals. Speakers and vendors share the latest information and innovations on   topics such as health care, education, employment, mental health and more. On Wednesday, June 15, enjoy Dream Night at the Jackson Zoo from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The conference will be held at the Marriott Downtown in Jackson on Thursday, June 16, and Friday, June   17. Keynote speakers are Toby Willis and comedian Zach Anner.   There will be an awards luncheon and evening entertainment on Thursday. 7) The Disabled Parenting Project

8)  Local Head Start Centers Taking Applications for Fall Enrollment
